American born Anne Rice was originally named Howard Allen O’Brien, due to her mother’s idea of using her husband’s name, but unsurprisingly her name was changed to Anne upon request at five years of age. In addition to Anne Rice Horror Novels, Anne also has written gothic, erotic and religious themed books. Anne Rice married childhood sweetheart poet and painter Stan Rice. Anne Rice spent much of her early life in New Orleans, Louisiana which is where the majority of her stories take place. After giving birth to her own daughter Michele, Anne Rice tragically lost her to leukaemia at just five years old, after this she returned to her religion which she had previously turned back on at age 18. Talent obviously runs in the family though because six years after this in 1978 Christopher Rice was born who is also a best selling author.
