March 2011 saw a poltergeist haunting hit the national papers when a family from Coventry claimed they were being terrorised by a suspected poltergeist. The family had not long moved into their home when spooky things started to happen. Lights started to flicker on and off, doors were opened and slammed shut, chairs and kitchen utensils were thrown around and even one of the beloved family dogs was fatally pushed down the stairs. The family decided enough was enough and called in a priest who they thought had successfully removed the spirit but two weeks later it returned. The family were in the living room when the door slammed shut and couldn’t be opened again, trapped they had to climb out the living room window. Most of the activity centred on the kitchen and one of the kids rooms so the family set up a camera in the bedroom and captured some spine chilling footage to prove that they are being haunted. In the footage captured you see the cupboard door slowly open on its own, and a pink chair on wheels is pushed across the room. Upon showing their landlords the creepy footage the family are working with them to sort out the ghostly activity and reports have now suggested that the spirit has successfully been exorcised from the house.
