Chocolate Witch Hats

Treat your guest to these mouth-watering chocolate witch hats which will tickle your taste buds and leave you in a happy mood all evening.

Serves: 12 people

Ingredients:

All-purpose flour (2 cups)
Kit Kat bars cut into 1/4 inch pieces (4)
1 large egg
Molasses (1/4 cup)
Chocolate Ice cream cones (12)
Unsweetened coca powder (1/4 cup)
Ground cloves (1/4 teaspoon)
Salt (1/4 teaspoon)
Packed dark-brown sugar (1/3 cup)
Baking soda (1/2 teaspoon)
Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars- chopped and melted (3)
Sour Gummy Belts/laces (1 packet)

Instructions:

  1. Whisk coca powder, 1 and 1/2 cups of flour, cloves, salt and baking soda in a bowl.
  2. Mix brown sugar and butter in a separate bowl with an electric whisk until fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, molasses and flour in the bowl and whisk until combined.
  4. Halve the dough and shape into discs for the base of the witch hat.
  5. Wrap each disc in cling film and put in fridge for an hour.
  6. Heat the oven to 325 degrees.
  7. Roll each disc onto a floured surface.
  8. Place on a tray lined with a baking sheet.
  9. Bake whilst rotating sheets halfway through.
  10. Once firm (11 minutes) remove from oven and cool.
  11. Fill each cone with the Kit Kat chunks.
  12. Brush a thick layer of melted chocolate around the rim of each cone and place the cookie on the top like a lid.
  13. Place upright on a dish and chill for approximately 10 minutes until the chocolate has set.
  14. Paint the whole witches hat with chocolate and chill again for 20 minutes.
  15. Once set, tie a piece of sour gummy lace loosely around the base of each hat.
  16. Enjoy your chocolate witch hat!
