Looking after your coloured contact lenses is very important as mistreating them can cause damage to your eyes so follow these quick and easy coloured contacts eye care tips to make sure your lenses stay safe and soft to use.

Clean your contact lenses regularly

Make sure you clean your contact lenses before and after wearing them as they can carry dirt which can then transfer into your eyes causing irritation and further eye infections. To clean them use contact lens solution and a contact lens storage case.

Place a small amount of solution in each of the compartments of the contact lens storage case, then put each contact lens in each of the compartments, close the lid and shake gently to remove any residue. When putting your contact lenses back in, gently pick them up from the case making sure you have clean hands or use tweezers otherwise you may add bacteria to the lens or even tear them if not handled properly.

Once they are in it is important not to rub your eyes as this may also cause the lens to tear or misshape. Make sure you always take your coloured contact lenses out before sleeping, as a lack of oxygen will cause the lenses to harden. Never wear contact lenses past their due date.
